Address of veterinarian Svitlana Volokh, “Doctor Volokh” Veterinary Clinic, Chernivtsi

Good afternoon, dear USAVA committee! My name is Volokh Svitlana, I am a veterinarian, I owned a clinic in the city of Bakhmut, Donetsk region, which is now located on the demarcation line. It was dangerous for me and my family to stay and work, so we decided to move to the safest corner of Ukraine – Chernivtsi, which is 1,200 km from home. They left with longing in their hearts, because they did not want to leave their regular customers and people who needed help there, but it became too dangerous – they had to leave. I was lucky with my choice. The people of Chernivtsi turned out to be rich in kind and sympathetic people, they sheltered us and provided us with everything necessary for life, because we were leaving with our grandmothers and we did not have enough space to take everything necessary for the existence of a large family. Realizing that I cannot sit idly by and that we will not survive on state aid, because some members of my family need expensive treatment because they have special needs, I began to look for work, to advertise in city groups in messengers in order to earn at least something. I was contacted by local volunteers and offered premises for rent, for the first time only for the payment of utilities. Thus began the story of the second uprising from the ashes of the “Doctor Volokh” clinic in a new place, because we first encountered this in 2014, but were able to restore everything on their own. The premises turned out to be beautiful, comfortable, located in a good place, but neglected, because it had not seen people for 6 years. The entire family undertook the equipment and restoration of the new clinic. It took away all our cash reserves and extracted the lion’s share of material aid, and nothing that could be earned on trips. At the moment, the premises are ready to receive people, although with certain inconveniences in the form of a lack of furniture and necessary equipment for surgery, diagnostics and treatment. I am asking for your help, because I feel that my finances this time, in the current situation, will not be enough to restore the work of the clinic.

Feedback on the assistance provided

“Thanks to USAVA, we have a modern oxygen box in the Doctor Voloh clinic, which is so necessary in the work of a doctor. Almost 8 months after a full-scale invasion, we resumed work in the city of Chernivtsi, having moved from the city of Bakhmut, in Donetsk region. Very thank you to everyone who gave a piece of themselves to help us recover.” – Veterinary assistance “Doctor Voloh”, Chernivtsi
